Join us for exciting talks and discussions on “How To Get More Women into Tech” with a talk from Dr Heike Riel  (IBM) and Shayne Kropp (Microsoft) and Biljana Bajic-Bizumic (Boston Consulting Group).

It is well documented that diversity is leading to more profitability and innovation both for companies and society.  Getting more women to join the tech industry is a high priority for many businesses and organisations. 

This goal requires a profound understanding of individuals' needs and a holistic approach to pave the way for women to thrive and unfold their potential in tech.

Our speakers will discuss the status quo of the tech industry and how we can make a positive impact.


About the speakers:

Dr. Heike Riel, IBM Fellow, Head Science & Technology, Lead IBM Research Quantum Europe / Africa

Dr. Heike Riel is a distinguished scientist known for advancing the frontiers of information technology through the physical sciences. She is IBM Fellow, Department Head of Science & Technology and Lead of IBM Research Quantum Europe/Africa. She is responsible for leading the research agenda of the Science & Technology department aiming to create scientific and technological breakthroughs in Quantum Computing and Technologies, Physics of Artificial Intelligence, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology including IoT and health applications and explore new directions to computing. 


Shayne Kropp: Cloud Computing Specialist,  Microsoft

As an Azure Specialist at Microsoft, Shayne leads a virtual team of sales, technical and services resources to help global insurance clients in Zurich realize digital transformation through cloud computing. Before joining Microsoft, Shayne spent seven years managed global banking clients for Hewlett Packard Enterprise, also out of Zurich. She spent the first eight years of her career in various sales and technical roles in the tech industry in Chicago, USA and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.


Dr. Biljana Bajic-Bizumic: Project Leader, Boston Consulting Group (BCG)

Biljana is a Project Leader in the Zurich office and a core member of BCG’s Digital Accelerator System (DAS). She focuses on digital and product strategy and execution for tech companies and financial institutions. In her work she is helping clients in driving large-scale agile and digital transformations.

 Prior to joining BCG, Biljana has gathered experience in information technology working as a software engineer and team leader in Schneider Electric DMS NS and SAP and as a business analyst at EPFL.

Biljana holds a PhD's degree in Computer Science from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland and a Master's and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia.
